Brussels, May 16, 2008
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to the seminar “Pre-registration under REACH – Lessons learned half way through the process” organised by the Foreign Trade Association on September 16 in Brussels.
Between June 1 and December 1 importers will have to pre-register, with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the chemicals contained in imported goods. There are still a lot of uncertainties as to exactly how this process will work and how business will respond to the new demands.
This Seminar will give you an opportunity to ask your questions to ECHA officials who will provide you with updated information based on the first months of the important pre-registration period.
As to the candidate list of dangerous chemicals, the FTA has invited the NGO and chemical expertise group ChemSec to present their work on drafting a “shadow” candidate list. This list will be released before the official candidate list and could therefore be a useful tool to prepare for the information and notification duties.
We welcome all retailers, wholesalers, brand companies and consumer goods importers to the Seminar.

I am looking forward to seeing you in Brussels in September!
